They love to play and dress them and take them places, as if they really were their mommies.

I have a daughter that first began her love affair, with a certain doll, when she was only 18 months old. The relationship was a bit rocky at first as my little mommy pulled her baby’s hair and competed with the doll for bottle and binky use. Yet as the weeks passed the love my baby had for her baby grew to complete devotion.

She fondly named the baby doll Bah-Bah-Toe (don’t ask, I don’t know) and they have been inseparable now for several years. The cementing moments of the relationship occurred when Bah-Bah-Toe was given her own dollhouse. At first this was a humble dwelling that consisted of nothing more than a few cardboard boxes stacked and taped together.

At Christmas time that year, when my daughter was 2, the idea of getting her a brand new doll was down right blasphemous. Bah-Bah-Toe reigns supreme. One evening as my husband and I observed our little mommy lovingly reciting a story to her precious baby and tenderly tucking her into one of those cardboard rooms it struck us: Bah-Bah-Toe needs a real house.

Finding the perfect dollhouse for our daughter and her baby was not too difficult but was a decision that required some care. There are so many options out there. The first thing to consider is size. In our case the house needed to be able to inhabit the doll we already had. For those who may still need to populate the new residence the size concern is moot. Yet size is still an issue. Tall dollhouses pose a tipping threat and a climbing temptation for little ones. The last thing you want is the dollhouse to become memorable because of your child’s King Kong impression and the ensuing trip to the ER.

Dollhouses that are overly intricate, ornate or small similarly don’t work for toddlers. Those gorgeous Victorian ones are great, but a toddler will destroy it before the sun sets on Christmas day. Those with fine detail and small furnishings also pose a choking hazard. What a toddler needs is a dollhouse that isn’t too big, and isn’t too small. There are several varieties on the market that your daughter will be thrilled to call her own.

Many dollhouses come with just that: the house. Other brands come with a load of extras including play figures, furniture and clothing for the dolls. Price and your existing collection of accessories is a great way to decide what you need for your daughter’s Christmas wishes to come true. If you have many dolls already, then a house by itself is probably the way to go. For those just beginning their doll collections, a house that comes with extras will have a higher price tag up front, but when you factor in the cost of buying extra pieces separately, it might be the better deal.

Our little mommy has grown so much we hardly recognize the 2 year old who squealed with delight as she tucked a baby named Bah-Bah-Toe into her new house for the first time. Yet she still loves that doll, and her dollhouse where her doll baby lives.

What joy she has gotten from those toys and what a great investment they have been in the growing of her imagination.

Why not? Call them and they’ll show up at your child’s next birthday party. You can use them when some villain tries to break up the celebration. Check out all these cool G-Force birthday supplies and find out how you can be protected.

Get the action going by sending out some G-Force Invitations. Your operation may begin top secret, but you don’t want it to stay that way. Mail these and everyone will know that a huge party is about to start. Like any protective agency, it’s important to be prepared.

You’ll be prepared if you order a G-Force Deluxe Party Pack. It’s a complete package of plates, cups, activity placemats, and more so you can serve refreshments and know your tasty offerings are safe. Then, inflate the balloons (with a Helium Tank accessory) and unroll the crepe paper rolls. Spread the tablecover. Get set for a meeting like no other when the agents arrive!

To keep all your partygoers peaceful while you set up, be sure to stock up on G-Force Tattoos. The agents kids will be too busy putting on these designs to start trouble. The tattoos are also no trouble to wash off, so you can move on to your next item on the checklist.

Oh, by the way, don’t forget those G-Force Cone Hats, either. What’s a party without hats? The package includes 8 cardboard hats with elastic chin straps and feature the characters from the terrific new film. Naturally, that character is decked out with all the high tech gear needed to communicate with his pals.

Now also might be a good time to let the whole crew explore their G-Force Party Favor Kits. Each green-and-white striped box contains a mystery pad and decoder, a sticker sheet, a Snap-n-Glow pop, a telescope, and some black slime. If that doesn’t keep them occupied, nothing will!

Those sticker sheets (like the tattoos) also are available separately, along with Green Telescopes. The 7″ long plastic looking glass is perfect for scouting out the enemy. Kids can use the tattoos to identify who is on the good guys team and who is with the bad guys.

Hand out G-Force Mystery Water Paint Boards to keep all the secret agents sharp about how to solve a puzzle. This set of 4 paint boards make it easy to exercise those mental muscles. Just wet a finger and rub to reveal a secret message. Then everyone can huddle and decide how best to invade the bad guys headquarters.

Your birthday planning mission is now nearing a successful conclusion. You’ve told everyone where to meet and stocked up on G Force birthday supplies to keep them covered at the meeting. Now, prepare to save the world!

These days, more and more people are getting baby sitting services. Much of its popularity can also be attributed to the internet. They aren’t exactly like traditional agencies. They also aren’t mere listing sites. Online sitter services are actually the best of both worlds. With a good sitter service, you get an ideal baby sitter at an affordable cost. There are a lot of online sites to choose from though. If you want to find the best, here are some considerations to take note of.

Reputation and Length of Operation

Specialize in Babies – A sitter service should specialize in the field of baby sitting. Most online services however, would naturally claim to be real experts. The best way therefore to find the really good ones would be to take a look at their track record. How long has the sitter service been in business? Although new businesses may be just as good as old ones, it would be a good idea to stick with a company that has had a lot of experience. It shouldn’t just be any kind of experience though. A sitter service should have a long, extensive and expert experience in the field of baby sitting.

Get clients’ feedback. You might get a clue about company experience by reading what clients think. You can get a load of these by visiting independent parenting and sitting forums. Parents who are happy with a particular baby sitting company would be willing to say so online. The same can be said for parents who aren’t happy about a particular service. You would at least know which sitting service has the best reputation.

Services Offered

Your baby sitting services agency should have a variety of services. This is because not every parent would have the same needs. In your case, you may also have varying needs at any given point in your family life. There may be times when you would need stay in sitters. At other times you may just prefer temporary sitter assistance. A good online service should be able to anticipate every client’s needs. There should be a variety of sitters who can stay in, stay out or provide short term service.

Added Services – Aside from the kind of sitters offered, you should also look for other services. The most important of these is the character investigation. Online sitting services should be able to provide you with baby sitter character files with complete clearances. You probably do not want to end up with a sitter who has a criminal history or a drunk driving case.

Screening Procedure

A site’s screening procedure is also important. Will a site perform screening for you or will you be allowed to be the one to screen? If you are an involved parent, you are likely still interested in having a hand at the screening process. Find out how a site will help you do that. How can you schedule interviews with sitters? What kinds of questions can you ask them?

Guarantees

A good online service should have some form of guarantee. Find out what a sitter site will be willing to do for you if you end up not liking your sitter. You may also need to replace a sitter if she has to go for personal reasons. Will a site replace a sitter without extra charge?

Availing of baby sitting services can truly be a great idea. It is crucial though that you pick the right service if you want a good experience with your sitter.

Training toddlers to use the potty can be one of the most challenging tasks for parents of toddlers. There are many books, resources, and products designed for potty training but it can still be challenging for many children and their parents. While potty training is a rite of passage for young children it should not be a harrowing experience.

Because potty training is challenging for most children at least at first, parents look for help when training their toddler. Here are six tips to make potty training easier.

Your child will be ready for potty training on their own time. While most parents would be happy getting potty training done as soon as possible, many children aren’t ready as soon as parents would like. It is very common for children, especially boys, to not be ready for potty training until age three or even three and a half.

If your child does not take to potty training right away there is nothing wrong with stopping and resuming it when they are ready. It your child is struggling it may be best to try again in a few months when your child is older and may be more receptive.

While accidents should not be rewarded, punishing or belittling a child is counter productive to potty training. Accidents should be handled matter-of-factly without criticism or making a child feel ashamed.

Using pull ups or other training pants that absorb like diapers may keep your child from learning quickly as they cannot feel the wetness. Cloth training pants or regular underwear that allow your child to feel wetness may help them learn better if they are having trouble learning with pull ups.

Many parents would not consider allowing their child to run around the house naked, but doing so can be a good potty training method. Many children find it easier to use learn to use the toilet if they are allowed to forgo pants and underwear.

Make our child feel good about using the toilet, but do not push them or stress out over it. Putting too much pressure on a child to potty train can be counter productive and cause them to have trouble learning.

Parents look forward to the end of diapers, but potty training offers new challenges to the parents of toddlers. Approach potty training only when your child is ready and be sure to use plenty of positive reinforcement and low pressure.

How to take care of a baby is practically the only question every newbie parent asks. Babies are cute and cuddly and it would seem as if you’d just want to have one of your own. However, you should not rush into having a baby unless you are prepared to take care of them.

There are many services available to help you answer your question on how to take care of a baby. These services, usually pregnancy classes or mother’s classes help both the mother and the father be prepared for the changes that a baby at home can impose. If you are nervous and feel quite unprepared for rearing a baby, then try attending these classes. Most of these classes are free and are scheduled on your free time.

One lesson you will be taught is to hold a baby properly. There are many ways to hold a baby. You can prop them up against your body, cradle them, or you might even try a football hold. This lesson might seem unnecessary but you’ll be surprised how many parents out there feel awkward in the way they hold their babies. In properly taking care of a baby, it is essential that you are comfortable and holding them properly can be a start.

Another thing to consider is the proper feeding of these babies. It is still best that your babies receive breast milk for the first few months. When breastfeeding it is important that they are latched on to you so that they can drink the milk properly instead of sucking in gas.

Don’t think that whenever a baby cries, he feels hungry. There are a lot of reasons why a baby cry, and to know this is a proper way of how to take care of a baby. A baby may cry if his diapers are already wet. He may also cry if he feels tired with the same sleeping position. Perhaps, he would appreciate if you help him move around a bit.

You can also learn proper feeding and proper diaper care in these classes. You don’t know how many cases of infant conditions have been reported due to a parent’s failure to do these tasks properly.

But what if the baby is ill? It is natural for a new parent to imagine something very serious if the baby shows signs of illness, or they just think he is ill. Don’t waste time. Phone a physician and tell him your baby’s condition and he’ll do whatever that is necessary.

If you can’t take on these services, then ask for an experienced friend or family member. Your mother, your sister, or your best friend, those who have experienced taking care of a baby will eagerly help you adjust to your new role. With them around, they can just model how to take care of a baby for you to emulate later on.

Many parents both want to be involved in raising their children after they divorce. Shared parenting can be an ideal solution for these parents because in a shared parenting arrangement both parents share the responsibilities of the children. This type of arrangement also lets the kids maintain positive relationships with both their mother and father.

Shared parenting, also called joint custody and shared custody, requires that parents create a solid custody schedule. Often this is the most difficult part of this arrangement because there can be confusion trying to make the calendar equal between the parents. Creating the custody schedule requires a great deal of work.

Complications can arise when parents are trying to make a custody schedule that gives both parents equal time. Many times the standard schedules of parents alternating weeks, every two weeks or every other month doesn’t work because of the children’s school schedule or the distance of the houses of the parents. In these cases the parents need to try something different.

There are solutions when children need more stability during school year and the parents don’t live close enough to switch custody that often. The easiest thing to do is to make a schedule where one parent has the majority of custody time during the school year–then make up the time the other parent lacks in other places. There are several options where the parents can make up the time.

One place the parents can even out the time is with the summer vacation months. For example, if during the school year one parent has custody during the week and the other parent has a visit during the week and custody on the weekends, the parents can switch that schedule in the summer. This would balance out the time.

The other places to look for equalizing the time are the other school holidays. The custody schedule can be more flexible during winter and spring breaks. When the children have other days off from school the parent with less custody time can have longer weekends with them or extended visitation.

Because setting up a schedule can get so complicated, many parents invest in a computer software that allows them to set up different schedules. This can be a good idea because the program can display the percentage of time that each parent has with the child so the parents can figure out how to balance everything out.

Shared parenting is a great way for parents to both participate in raising their children. There are many ways to create a shared parenting schedule and parents should work until they find a schedule that fits their needs. Once this is done they can relax and enjoy their parenting.

There are a lot of criminal individuals who use all forms of the internet to exploit children. Most parents need to learn how to protect their children from these individuals and bad things on the web.

There are 4 easy steps that you can take to protect your child. Your child will be protected at all times if you take these steps.

Good communication with your child is the best protection against these criminals. You need to education your children on internet browsing safety and how to avoid bad sites and social networks.

There are going to be times when your supervision is not enough to protect your child from these online criminals. If this is the case, there are other child protection technologies on the computer that control the flow of information that your child can get from the internet.

There is software that you can buy that will block specific sites. When you use this software, you can automatically block certain types of sites with bad content. All computers have parental control programs so you need to make sure you are using them.

You can set the parental control features of your child’s computer at high levels in order to block malicious sites and websites with bad reputation. You can also block sites that collect personal information or those with unsatisfactory privacy policies.

Some households share computers, if this is the case, it is best to create different user accounts for everyone in the household. Then you can change the parental control appropriately.

As the administrator of the computer, you should set limited control settings for your childrens accounts. You must also set higher Internet security settings for childrens account.

You should also monitor your child’s online activity. You can do this by checking regularly the history of the browser. Each computer has a history tool on the browser that you can check. Then you can find out what types of sites your child is visiting.

It is easier to protect your child from criminals on the internet these days. All you really need to do is use the parental control software either provided with your computer or you can buy relevant software.

Of course to welcome your baby boy into the world, setting up a great nursery for him is an excellent idea. One great way to have a nice nursery with a great theme is to pick out baby bedding that will give you a basis to work with for the entire nursery.

When you get started with the nursery decorations for your baby boy’s nursery, you’ll want to choose a nice baby bedding set for the room. You’ll find that there are many great choices out there for baby boys that you can choose from. When making your choice make sure you keep quality and comfort in mind. The quality of the baby bedding sets, as well as the comfort for your baby boy, are the most important aspects.

The first thing to check out when considering baby boy bedding sets is the material quality. You’ll want to make sure the material is soft, since newborns have skin that is sensitive. Ensure that you don’t go with bedding that is going to be too heavy as well. You don’t want a bedding set that is so heavy it keeps them from sleeping well at night.

Check to ensure that the sheets for the bedding set fits the way it should on the mattress. The last thing you want is for the sheets to slip off the mattress and become a suffocation danger to your new baby boy.

Once you have found a few baby bedding sets that are of the appropriate quality then you can start to have fun with the styles that you are thinking of.

Usually baby boys traditionally end up with the color blue in their nursery. You can go with blue or you can go with various shades of blue as well to create a unique spin on this in your baby boy nursery. Other options are to go with baby bedding that not only have blue, but other soft colors like yellow and lovely greens.

Another option is to look into baby nursery bedding that has a theme to it. There are so many different baby bedding sets out there that you are sure to be able to find something that will fit your taste.

If you have always dreamed of having a son to play sports with then why not make that the theme of your nursery? Choose baby boy bedding sets that feature basketballs, footballs, or baseballs on them. Or maybe you want your little boy to be surrounded by race cars, trains, or motorcycles. The truth is that the only limit on your options is your imagination.

So allow yourself to be creative while you are doing your shopping. You’ll be so happy with what you’ll find for your baby boy.
